Abraham Lincoln

Abraham Lincoln, elected to the presidency of the United States in 1860, brought the country through the greatest crisis in its history. The southern states wanted to separate from the Union and retain slavery. That they had the backing of the Vatican is evident from an examination of Civil War correspondence between Jefferson Davis and Pope Pius IX. The resulting war caused the death of thousands and tore the heart of the nation. Many private conversations with Lincoln were preserved by Father Charles Chiniquy in his book 50 Years in the Church of Rome, revealing Lincoln's knowledge of Rome's involvement in the war. The records of the court proceedings on the assassination of Lincoln prove he was murdered by Roman Catholic conspirators, four of whom were hanged for the crime in July 1865. John Surrat, one of the masterminds of the plot, who escaped from the Ford Theater on the night of April 14, 1865, was tracked by the State Department to Canada, where he was sheltered by Catholic priests, from Canada to London, where he was sheltered by priests in a Catholic rectory, and from London to Rome. When finally caught, he was found in the Pope's private army, from whence he was extradited to the United States. Some suggest this is the best kept secret in America's history.
